  2. DOH contracts with 17 agencies deliver family planning services at 64 sites across Washington State • Clients served on a sliding fee scale based on income • Family planning services include but are not limited to: • Birth Control • Sterilization • STI Testing and Treatment • HIV Testing • Reproductive Cancer Screening • Sexual Health Education

  3. DOH federal Title X and state family planning funds are grant based – not fee for service • DOH funds can be used in part to pay infrastructure • Serving non citizens is allowable with federal Title X and state family planning funds. • DOH Family Planning works closely with HCA/Medicaid Family Planning - All DOH contracted family planning agencies are also Take Charge sites

  4. Massachusetts Health & Human Services • Three years post-MA health reform, 75,000 clients continue to need subsidized services at Massachusetts family planning sites due to a lack of insurance, low-income status and/or need for confidential care.

  5. After health care reform and the Medicaid expansion… DOH family planning funding can help provide a safety net for: Provider shortages Churning Confidential Services Long waits for appointment times Non citizens
