  1. Georgia Plant and Animal Adaptations There are many plants and animals that have adaptations so they can survive in Georgia. By Paul

  2. Adaptations of a Beaver A beaver’s eyes are important. They are important because it helps it see. It has clear eye lids to help it see underwater. They also have bad eye sight. A beaver’s feet are very important. They are important because the hind feet helps it swim. The front feet is important because it helps it grab logs and wet mud to build lodges.

  3. Adaptations of a Beaver A beaver’s fur is important. It is important because it repels water to keep the skin dry. It keeps the skin warm too. It’s sometimes red, black, yellow, and brown. A beaver’s teeth is important. They are important because they help them chew big logs. They are orange. They are also sharp and strong. They can be 4 feet long. They also have very important tail. They are important because it helps it steer in water. It helps it pat mud on dam. They are also flat.

  4. Bear Adaptations Bears are found in the mountains. It can reach up to 500 pounds! They eat plants, insects, and other smaller animals. They hibernate to survive in the winter. They like to hang around looking for food.

  5. Turtle Adaptations There are lots of turtles in the Coastal Plain. The bog turtle is the rarest reptile. A snapping turtle can weigh up to 300 poundsit’sabout 2 full grown people! They use their shell for protection to hide in them.

  6. Plant Adaptations Pines, hickory, oak trees lives in the Piedmont. Bearing trees feed small mammals that live in the forests. Evergreen trees provide shelter and food during freezing days. They use their roots to drink water.

  7. Summary All these animals and plants use their adaptations to survive.
