What is 2-1-1? • 2-1-1 is the abbreviated telephone number that is reserved for the United States and Canada ; where it is used to provide information, and referrals to health , and human services organizations.

Technology – How can 2-1-1 Implement Change? • Example of how 2-1-1 can implement change is: • When caller utilizes service, user can also be screened for cancer assessment • This is effective for change because is can : • Give callers resources and referrals for health care/Preventative care • Make callers aware of options/education on cancer • Early Detection
Physical Dimension of 2-1-1 • 2-1-1 offers coverage in all 50 states and Canada • Some states and counties do have more or referral service stations; which is dependent upon the amount of resources in that area, the need for resources, and population • More referral services would have a need for more staffing and volunteers to run each facility
Environment Functioning of 2-1-1 • The environment plays a huge role in 2-1-1 because changes in the economy increase or decrease call volume for human needs • Natural Disasters utilize 2-1-1 to connect survivors to shelters, and food • Also, people connect to 2-1-1 when wanting to help those in need when disasters hit • An example of how 2-1-1 is influenced by environment: • OBAMACARE • Since everyone will be required to obtain affordable healthcare; new holders will need to connect with resources, referrals to learn about healthcare plans, get seen by doctors or specialists
