NEC'2011 VARNA BULGARIA Time-of-flight system for controlling the beam composition P.Batyuk, I.Gnesi, V.Grebenyuk, A.Nikiforov, G.Pontecorvo, F. Tosello JINR, 2011
Monitoring the beam composition Two main reasons for composition change: • instability of currents in the elements of magnetic optics • inaccurate positioning of target station For monitoring the beam composition by transit time the system was built based onCAMAC (Computer-Aided Measurement and Control) modules and ETHERNET CrateController from CAEN.
Remoteconnection To connect the CAMAC Create with remote PC were used: • C111C Ethernet CAMAC Create Controller • program for remote connection PC with CAMAC Create Four main parts of program: • socket creation (socket with two parameters: IP address, port number) • establish a client - server connection • data exchange • socket destruction
Socketconnection The server is a controller and a program is a client
Dataexchangemode • command F24is used to stop the spectrum accumulation in memory module; • command F17makes output in the line; • afterLAM signalprogram switches into spectrum reading mode; • command F16is used to read data from memory.
Results Spectra were obtained at different currents in the lens ML31, which focuses beam on the target.
Results • Spectra were obtained for study of the beam • Spectra shows suitability of the system work
