Pedram Zohrevand served in the city of Fort Lauderdale from April 2014-October 2015 as an Assistant City Engineer. Pedram Zohrevand – As an Assistant City engineer • He served in the city of Fort Lauderdale from April 2014-October 2015. • He was meant responsible for managerial and professional engineering work in the Public Works Department Engineering Division. • He oversaw the Engineering Division consisting of more than 30 engineers and supervised all the engineering and architectural activities. • He has received many accomplishments while working there.
Pedram Zohrevand - Developed Performance Metrics and Monitored System for CIP Projects • He developed new performance metrics and scorecards system for the measurement and the visual representation of the progress of Public Works Engineering CIP projects. • These metrics and systems were implemented within the City’s management reporting tool (ClearPoint Strategy). • They enabled the City to precisely monitor the performance of the Engineering Division against the City’s vision as well as the strategic plan.
Pedram managed a team of about 50 employees and reduced the vacancies by about 90% in Public Works Engineering Division by hiring more than 10 Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Administrative Assistants, and more over a period of 15 months. This helped to improve the issues related to understaffing in the Engineering Division.
Executive Project Management Training • He developed a Project Management Training Program to aid with the City’s shift from in-house design to in-house project management. • He collaborated and worked with the Office of Corporate Training & Special Projects at Florida Atlantic University. • This shift helped in standardizing previous processes and procedures, and focusing on aligning them with the Project Management Body of Knowledge.
Pedram Zohrevand – Implementation of Adaptation Action Areas (AAAs) policies adopted into the City’s Comprehensive Plan • Pedram collaborated with the City Manager’s Office and Public Works Sustainability Division and integrated the sea level rise adaptation into planning mechanisms. • With the help and use of the established climate adaptation planning mechanisms, Adaptation Action Areas (AAAs) were identified in the Fiscal Year 2016 Community Investment Plan.
