Binomial Nomenclature • Naming of organisms is by the rules of Binomial Nomenclature • The name is typically in latin • The name must be either italicized, or underlined • Organisms are labeled according to a two name system • The First name is the Genus of the organism • Genus Must always be capitalized. • It may be abbreviated with a capital letter • The second name is the species name • it must also either be italicized, or underlined
