Aptitude • (n.)- ability to learn or understand quickly • Synonym: Understanding • Antonym: None • The aptitude of Lob was unusual because he was able to travel 400 miles to be able to visit Sandy.
Attentive • (adj.)- give attention to something; also being considerate of others. • Synonym: Considerate • Antonym: Disregarding • Sandy’s father was very attentive when he was listening to Mr. Don talk on the phone.
Banish • (v.)- to force to leave a country or place; exile • Synonym: Exile • Antonym: Invite • Sandy’s parents banished Lob from their household the first couple times that he traveled to their house.
Barricade • (n.)- a temporary structure put up to block passage; an obstacle or barrier • (v.)- to block an opening or passage • Synonym: Obstacle • Synonym: Block • Antonym: None • Antonym: Allow • In his travels Lob might have reached a barricade the he injured himself on when he jumped over it.
