Planning Ahead • You may have several teams • Teams play at different times of day • Do you have enough referees for the whole day? • What if you are not a “Flagship Club” ? • How do you get officials? • Answer: generate your own programme

What can Clubs do? • Planning • Identify • Request support/ fixtures change • Share facilities/ personnel • Liaise with local schools – recruit • Identify potential attendees at - line judge/ scorer/ JNL/ Grade 4/other course
Being Professional • Set appropriate targets • Set dates to achieve the targets • Review the targets achieved • Set new targets
Monitoring/ Evaluating • Who monitors? • Who records the data? • Who are your Club mentors? • Who encourages the young talent? • Who are the key Club personnel in charge of moving the Club along? • Who can you look to locally? People who have refereeing experience you can bring on board? • Who and how is the programme financed? • Who fills in the forms for Grant Aid? Does your Club subsidise Referee education?
Self help • Plan your programme • Request suitable dates/times • Free school lets? • Advertise!!!! • Make your Club a local centre of excellence! • Start getting money in early for courses – hint: people won’t turn up if they haven’t paid.
