Luke Chapter 7 • The Centurion’s servant is healed • The widow’s son at Nain is raised from the dead • John sends disciples to inquire about Jesus • No one born of women is greater than John • The parable of the children sitting in the market places • Jesus is anointed by a sinful woman • Jesus taught Simon a lesson of forgiveness
Lessons from Chapter 7 • Importance of having an humble spirit and respectful, trusting faith in the Lord. We should never place demands on the Lord in order for us to believe • The power of the word of the Lord. • Miracles were not about the faith of the one being healed. • See in this chapter Jesus’ power over disease, space, death, and sin • Jesus can turn mourning into rejoicing • Jesus may not be what some expect Him to be • Let us be careful not to be guilty of thinking someone to be too sinful to even be around or approach • We need a sincere, penitent attitude toward sin. Our debt of sin which is forgiven should prompt a deep and abiding love for the Lord
