Day 1 Directions: • On your own, read “The House Guest” by: Paul Darcy Boyles (p. 84) • Afterwards, partner up and track all of the character traits of Bridgie on legal sized paper • Create a web with her name in center and 8 legs representing the 8 methods used to develop characters • After collecting all information, write two character traits under her name in the center (see board)

  3. Day 2 Directions: • Review the 8 methods of character development • Re-read your own story and highlight areas where you have developed your character • Evaluate yourself using the short story rubric under character development • Pick your weakest page in your story and re-write it again using multiple methods • Title the top “Character Development” and label each different method you tried out
