11. Progress to date To date 30+ successful candidates NVQ2, excellent evaluations including other local Laboratories
Currently 15 NVQ3 candidates and 6 NVQ2 candidates due to qualify summer 2010 from PHT, Winchester, Southampton and Chichester
About to start next cohorts of NVQ2 and 3, including candidates from Isle of Wight Pathology service
Working with University of Portsmouth to develop PTP programme and Foundation degree linking to years 1 and 2
Health Care Science forum within Trust to share and initiate implementation across HCS professions, SHA forum established.
12. Planned Education and training Framework From October 2011 PTP training programme 8 placement students and local staff development
STP – 3 trainee scientists and local staff development
Foundation degree for part time trainee Associate Practitioners perhaps after one year in service - as required by the workforce and development of own staff
Level 3 Diploma in Pathology support for CF level 3 and induction to NHS for trainee associate Practitioners (apprenticeships) – replaces NVQ3
Level 2 Diploma in Laboratory science for CF level 2 staff ( apprenticeships) – replaces NVQ2, potential for CF level1
