    11. Kontos Insecticide/Miticide Key pests controlled: Adelgids Aphids Leafhoppers Mealybugs (Best performance when populations are low) Psyllids Spittlebugs Spider Mites (effective prevention of population buildup) Whiteflies (including “Q” biotype)

    12. Kontos Insecticide/Miticide Other pest activity and upcoming label additions: Thrips Trials show good control of Thrips but needs to be part of a good rotational program.

    16. Western Flower Thrips – (6 trials) Low initial infestation 1.7 oz spray, 75-85% control 7 DAT, 85-100% control 14 DAT (Flowers); 95-100% control 28 DAT (Leaves) 1.7 oz drench, 63% control 7 DAT, 96% control 14 DAT (Flowers); 95-100% control 35 DAT (Leaves) High initial infestation 1.7 & 3.4 oz spray, no control 7 DAT, 52-66% control 14 DAT (Buds & Flowers) 3.4 oz drench, no control 7 DAT, 86% control 14 DAT (Buds & Flowers)

    18. Kontos Insecticide/Miticide Application Rates: Foliar applications: 1.7 to 3.4 fl. oz./100 gal. or 5 to 8 fl. oz/acre. A spray adjuvant with spreading/penetrating charecteristics may improve leaf uptake and systemic activity of the active ingredient.

    19. Kontos Insecticide/Miticide Application Rates: Aerial applications: 5 to 8 fl. oz / acre in a minimum of 5 GPA. Drench applications: 1.7 fl oz for herbaceous crops. 3.4 fl. oz. for woody crops. Drench rates vary depending on container size. Please consult the label.

    20. Kontos Insecticide/Miticide Tank Mixing: Kontos is physically and biologically compatible with most common pesticides and fertilizers. In the absence of local knowledge of desired tank mix, please contact OHP or consult the label for instructions on conducting a compatibility test. Tank mixes, including adjuvants, should also be tested for plant safety.

    21. Kontos Insecticide/Miticide Restrictions: Do not apply more than 25 fl. oz. per acre of nursery per season. Do not apply more that 5 fl. oz. per acre per season to vegetables. To reduce run off potential, avoid outdoor applications when rainfall is expected in 48 hours.

    23. Kontos Insecticide/Miticide KONTOS is not recommended for use on the following varieties: geraniums (Pelargonium spp.), orchids, hoya, Dracaena, Cordyline, Schefflera, neanthebella palm, and ferns. Do not make more than one application per season to: Hydrangea, Impatiens spp., crotons (Codieum spp.), Fuschia hybrids, Petunia, Peperomia, stock, or cyclamens (Cyclamen spp.). Extensive phyto screening has been done with Kontos, however, it is always a good idea to test tank mixes prior to commercial applications.

    24. Kontos Insecticide/Miticide Application tips: Apply early in the cropping cycle, prior to heavy infestations Root system must be present for effective control as a drench. Applications may benefit from the addition of a surfactant.
