Case study Presentation by Amy JianpingZeng Digital Imaging I Summer Session 1 – 2014
Client Digital Imaging ART125/Prof. Deb Krikun Project Title Hyperrealism NASA – Where is our future home? Duration Summer Session 1 – 2014 Team Amy JianpingZeng
Description This concept was inspired by the classes I took last semester, Astronomy class and The Solar System class • Global warming • Pollution • Shortage of water • The extinction risk of plants • The threat of Near Earth Objects (potentially collide with the Earth) • NASA’s missions and programs
Research My initial image – Humankind on another planet working with aliens harmoniously. New idea- combination of past, current and future • Past (extinction of dinosaurs) • Current (humankind) • Future (Habitable exo-planet) • NASA
Strategies 1. Proper placement of the past and the future • A black strip between two parts • Take away the dinosaur’s fossil and the human’s head • Drag down the NASA logo and image slogan
Strategies 2. Consider the details A. Good quality images search image’s size larger than 2MP B. Clean edges of the images set a new work path select the path set the mode of brush tool “clear” stroke the image on the path use brush tool to clear the edges C. Drag down the NASA logo and image slogan
Strategies 3. Manipulate the details A. Color blending The rock and the fire B. Dinosaur’s foot
Challenges First challenge a. I had never touched the image design professional field b. To understand the concepts and terms (English is my second language) Second challenge I had never used Photoshop and Apple computer before Third challenge Personality challenge – out-of- box thinking skills
Result • I am a beginner, but I am very happy for what I have done. • Learn new techniques and may develop new habits for my life • Use this hyperrealism project to express a deep social concern • The theme of the hyperrealism project is continuing to exhibit in my cubism and collage compositions
Thank you to prof. Deb Krikun Hope everyone Have a good Summer
