What is the DVD? • One way to tell a health story • Story from 4 to early adolescence • Follows one character (‘Link’): their health journey over time and their questions • AIM: provides opportunities for conversations to help promote understanding
Why create a DVD? • Feedback from young people • Tell us more than once • Don’t want to feel like we are doing homework • We want information in different forms especially visual and multi media
Why create a DVD? • Flexible way to tell a story • Has interactive elements and worksheets and can be used together with other materials • Can talk about issues from a third party perspective. • Not just steps
Why create a DVD? • Information in a context • Lives exist apart from hospital • Focuses on keeping well and health rather than illness or dying
