  3. 9. Scoring • Boston is playing Texas at Fenway Park. The score keepers need to know math so they can add up every time someone has a run. This is why they need math.

  5. 7. Counting • I’m in a new classroom in my new school. My mom wants to know how many children are in the classroom so she can make us all cookies. I need to know how to count in order to tell her how many kids there are.

  6. 6. Solving Problems Word problem In order to help a problem child you need to teach them correct work, like math and problem solving. If you don’t, you might have a million problem children. If you have 15 problem children and you help 5 of them, how many children are left?

  7. 5. Height and weight • If a football player needs to be 150 pounds for their first high school game, you needs to know his weight. You will need to know math to weigh him. If you don’t know how, you will look very silly just standing there with a random football player on a scale.

  8. 4. Temperature • If its 100 degrees outside, and the weather man says it will drop to 85 degrees, you will need to know math to figure out what the weather will be like so you can decide what to wear.

  9. 3. Painting • I’m painting my room orange and yellow. I need to know how many gallons of paint to use for the entire room. This involves using a lot of math.

  10. 2. Sports • I’m at my sister’s Lacrosse game. They are winning 24 to 23. If they need to win by 2 points, they need to know math to calculate that score.
