  5. Temperature and Its measurement Objective Matter Temperature is one of the fundamental (base) quantities. During the day we feel hot, but cool at night. Question Profile EXIT WisesaEdu

  6. Temperature and Its measurement ice fire Objective Matter Question Profile Fire is hot, but ice is cold. A hot object is said to have high temperature, but a cold object has low temperature. EXIT WisesaEdu

  7. Temperature and Its measurement Objective Matter Question Thus temperature shows the degree of hotness and coldness of an object. Profile EXIT WisesaEdu

  8. Temperature and Its measurement Objective Matter Question Profile EXIT Your palm can feel the hotness or coldness of a thing. But can you use it to measure temperature? WisesaEdu

  9. Temperature and Its measurement Objective . The common measuring tool for temperature is a thermometer. A thermometer consists of a long glass tube with a narrow column, called capillary pipe, containing liquid, alcohol or mercury. But, the upper part is vacuum. Matter Question Profile EXIT WisesaEdu

  14. Temperature and Its measurement Objective The kinds of temperature scales : Fahrenheit, Celsius , Reamur and Kelvin. Matter Question Profile EXIT WisesaEdu

  15. Temperature and Its measurement There are four commonly used temperature scales in existence they are:  Celsius: The celcius scale is defined such that the freezing point of water is 0°C and the boiling point of water is at 100°C. Absolute zero occurs at –273.15°C. Objective Matter Question Profile EXIT WisesaEdu

  16. Temperature and Its measurement Objective  Kelvin: The kelvin scale is the celcius scale offset such that absolute zero occurs at 0 K. This means water freezes at 273 K and boils at 373K. Matter Question Profile EXIT WisesaEdu

  17. Temperature and Its measurement  Fahrenheit: The fahrenheit scale is defined such that the freezing point of water is 32°F and the boiling point of water is at 212°F. Absolute zero occurs at –460°F. Objective Matter Question Profile EXIT WisesaEdu

  18. Temperature and Its measurement  Reamur: The reamur scale is defined such that the freezing point of water is 0°R and the boiling point of water is at 80°R. Absolute zero occurs at –218,4 °R. Objective Matter Question Profile EXIT WisesaEdu
