FIRST STOP, ROMA You can technically visit another country while inside Rome. Vatican City is recognized as a separate entity although it is situated in the center of Rome’s historic district. St. Peter’s square housed the famous basilica and Vatican museum in which you can reach Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel.
