What is Weebly? • Do-it-yourself website builder • Allows you to create a professional website from a template or build from scratch • Uses widgets to drag and drop features to your website making it simple, yet professional. • Best part, basic use is free!
What it can be used for • Class webpage • Use if you do not have a LMS • Post announcements and pictures • Class Projects • Have student create webpages to support papers written or subjects • Information or Event pages • Create a webpage for an event you are hosting! • We created our WeLearn Webpage using Weebly!
Now, How to! • Navigate to http://www.weebly.com and sign up for an account
Registration • Fill out the following on the first page:
Choose a Focus • Either way does not matter, you receive same features (I usually choose site)
Theme Filter Themes at the top
Select A Theme • Once you have found a theme select • Give your website a name
Now its time to • Infrastructure • Blue = Big changes to website • Design, Pages, Store, Settings
To add a YouTube Video: • Go to the video you would like • Copy the URL at the top of the page
In Weebly Drag over the YouTube Icon • Click on video • Paste your link into the YouTube Video URL
Embed Twitter Feed I • Login to twitter.com • At the top of the page, click the • Navigate to the settings page • On left hand side, click Widgets
Embed Twitter Feed II • At the top, Click • Fill out the table for your twitter account
Embed Twitter Feed III • Once you click create, a code will be generated for your page. Right click and click copy
Embed Twitter Feed IV • On Weebly, Drag over the icon • Click on table then click • Copy and paste code into box
Feed Reader • Allows to embed RSS feeds • Really Simple Syndication • Syncs up to websites and updates automatically • http://yes.yorktown.k12.in.us
