Hearing Place Theory – explains high pitched sounds due to PLACE on basilar membrane (inside cochlea) that is triggered by high frequency sound wave Frequency Theory – explains lower pitched sounds due to vibration of entire basilar membrane
Vision Trichromatic Theory – theory that explains COLOR vision – retina has 3 types of cones, sensitive to red, blue, and green light – all other colors are combinations of those Opponent Process Theory – explains afterimages – same cell can be give “either/or” messages – if you exhaust red cone – see green, blue – yellow, black – white Ex.
