  3. Qualities/Personality • Twin brother-Apollo • Inviolate and vigorous • Granted strength and health to others • Sent plague and death to men and animals • Cured and/or alleviated suffering mortals • Hunted for survival, not sport • Sometimes protected and cared for the animals she hunted

  4. Role on Mount Olympus • Lead Hunter/Huntress • One of the 12 Olympians • Mostly stayed on Earth to hunt • Hunted with mortal and immortal girls who swore to never marry or love men • Watched over children and newborns (animals and humans) • Protector

  5. Affected the Greeks • Hunters and tribes looked up to her • Unmarried women looked to her • Encouraged farmers to take care of their livestock and/or sheep (so Artemis would look on them graciously)
