  5. Coalition Developed Ideas • Project had to be Mobile and Quick to respond • Had to operate on its own power for extended periods of time • Had to provide enough communications support to keep facility in operation • Had to meet Public Health Preparedness Standards

  6. Coalition Worked With Various Agencies Collecting Ideas • Aiken County Emergency Management • Charleston County • State of South Carolina (IT Department) • SC DHEC • SLED

  7. Trailer Selected and Company Identified to Provide Unit • Trailer needed to be functional but work in conjunction with other similar projects throughout South Carolina

  8. Trailer needed to be light enough that it could be pulled by midsize SUV or Pick-up truck.

  9. Double Axel Trailer for Weight Distribution

  10. Vehicle Needed to Be Stored

  11. Trailer with Aerodynamic Nose

  12. Communications “Input-Output” Panel and coax connections

  13. Internal Generator-Power Panel

  14. LED Local Digital TV and Internal/External Temperature Monitoring and Clock

  15. Two Work Stations

  16. Portable Switchboard and Phones

  17. Trailer Prewired and all Connections in place and ready to go upon delivery

  18. One VHF/UHF Ham Radio Included

  19. Simple Bumper Pull (2 Inch Ball)

  20. External Wi-Fi

  21. AVL 1 Meter Dish with 6 Watt Transmitter 3 down and 1 up possible with 340 CIR

  22. Rear Door

  23. 8 KW Commercial Quiet Generator

  24. Cord Reels Stored in Nose

  25. 48 Hour Fuel Tank (@50%)

  26. Deep Cycle Batteries

  27. 60 Watt Solar Panel on Roof

  28. Two Trailers – Aiken Regional and Piedmont Medical Centers

  29. Project Cost $110K

  30. System Tested

  31. Barnwell County EOC and Dispatch • Direct Lightning hit takes out every telephone including 911 into and out of Barnwell County. • Roger Riley had seen coalition presentation • Aiken Regional Responds within 20 minutes with full supporting staff • 5 minutes after arrival four phone lines and all data were in operation via satellite.
