  1. Properties of Quadrilaterals Elizabeth Turley 4/27/13 Honors Geometry Chapter 8

  2. Types of Quadrilaterals • Parallelogram • Rectangle • Rhombus • Square • Kite • Trapezoid • Isosceles Trapezoid

  3. Parallelogram • Opposite sides parallel • Opposite sides equal in length • Opposite angles equal • Diagonals bisect each other

  4. Rectangle • Opposite sides parallel • Opposite sides equal in length • All angles right angles • Diagonals congruent and bisect each other

  5. Rhombus • Opposite sides parallel • All sides equal in length • Opposite angles equal • Diagonals are perpendicular bisectors and bisect angles

  6. Square • Opposite sides parallel • All sides equal in length • All angles right angles • Diagonals congruent • Diagonals perpendicular bisectors and bisect angles

  7. Kite • Each set of adjacent sides equal in length • Opposite angles equal where pairs meet • Diagonals are perpendicular bisectors

  8. Trapezoid • Only one pair of opposite sides parallel

  9. Isosceles Trapezoid • Opposite sides parallel • Non-parallel sides equal in length • Both sets of base angles equal • Diagonals congruent

  10. Trapeziums • No parallel sides The End.
