  2. Fish • Fish are water creatures and animals. • There are over 25,000 species in the world. • Here are two species: Cod Fish and Barracuda Fish

  3. Information of Fish • The 25,000 known species of fish are divided into three main groups. • Fish are cold blooded, which means their inner body temperature changes as the surrounding temperature changes. • Tropical fish are one of the most popular pets in the U.S. • The largest fish is the great whale shark which can reach fifty feet in length. The smallest fish is the Philippine goby that is less than one third of an inch when fully grown.

  4. More Information • Fish eat other fish, fish eggs, mollusks, aquatic plants, algae, zooplankton, terrestrial insects, water birds, turtles, frogs, snakes and mice. • A person who studies fish called an ichthyologist. • In some species the males and females have different shaped bodies or different coloring; in other species there is no visible difference.

  6. Types of Egg Shells • Egg of lamprey • Egg of catshark (mermaids' purse) • Egg of bullhead shark • Egg of chimaera

  7. How They Survive • Fish have water they dry up and die but they can live up to 8 hours with out water as long as it is on ice and a house fish has to have a water pump that supplys water bubbles for fresh air.
