HISTORY In 2004, Orange County Community Corrections Division made the commitment to upgrade and improve correctional practices and conditions through the American Correctional Association (ACA) accreditation process.
HISTORY ACA is founded on a commitment to accountability, professionalism and respect for basic human rights, while striving towards excellence in the field of corrections.

ACCREDITATION PROCESS Assessment of Program Strengths and Weaknesses • Reviewed policies and procedures • Assessed issues and concerns that may affect the quality of life for clients • Revised policies and procedures to address weaknesses and improve services

BENEFITS Improved Staff Training and Development • Established a training and staff development program for all categories of personnel • Addressed all pre-service, in-service and specialized training needs with clear timelines • Increased required training hours from 16 to 40 annually for all staff with direct client contact
