  2. Childhood • Ray was born in Oak Park, Illinois in 1902 • He was born to Luis and Rose Kroc • Has 2 younger siblings Robert and Lorraine Kroc • He worked with his uncle Earl in a soda store.

  3. Joining the Army • When World War II started he lied about his age to become a ambulance driver with Walt Disney • He worked for the Red Cross transporting dead or wounded troops

  4. Coming home • On Rays return he went to Chicago and worked at many jobs • He worked as a pianist, and real-estate salesmen

  5. GettingStarted • He also play in a band at the Paw-Paw Lake, Michigan. • Where he met his future wife Ethel Flemming • They got married in 1922

  6. 1940’s • Became a seller of the multimixer that can mix up to 5 milk shakes at one time • His best customers was the McDonalds brothers (Richard, and Maurice (Mac) ) They bought 8 mixers for there fast food restaurants

  7. 1950’s First Ronald McDonald • In 1954 Kroc went to California, to visit the McDonalds brother's restaurants. • Wanted to start his own restaurant based on the McDonalds restaurant. • He then convinced the brothers to sell him the franchise for the McDonald restaurants for 2.7 million dollars.   8. 1963-death • In 1961 he divorced His wife Ethel and several years later meet a women named Joan and married her in 1969. • By 1963 sales had reached 37 million dollars and over 1 billion hamburgers had been sold. • He served as a senior chairman from 1977 until he died. • Ray died in 1984 of heart failure
