Raymond "Ray" Albert Kroc • October 5, 1902 – January 14, 1984 • Kroc was a Czech American businessman who took over the small-scale McDonald’s Corporation franchise in 1954 and built it into the most successful fast food operation in the world • He also owned a baseball team called San Diego Padres (starting 1974)
Early life • Borned in Chicago in 1902 • Had alot of jobs before he became rich starting whit: paper cup seller to band member • Became a multi-mixer milkshake machine salesman, traveling around the world
The birth of McDonalds • He partnered whit the McDonald brothers, afther the few years he bought the fast food chain from them ($2,7 million dollars) • He invented a many new meals what became popular (hulaburger – whit pineapple slices) Ray Kroc became a very rich man
Kroc’s death and personal life • Died of heart failure in January 14, 1984 at the age of 81 • Kroc was married 3 times • Toward the end of his life, Kroc used a mobility aid to get around, an Amigo mobility vehicle (sometimes referred to as a Li'l Rascal)
Kroc’s highest moments • Kroc was included in Times 100: The Most Important People of the Century and amassed a $500 million fortune during his lifetime. • The former Dire Straits released a song about Ray Kroc on his 2004 album Shangli-La. It was inspired by Ray Kroc's autobiography Grinding it out and the starting of McDonald's, using many of Mr. Kroc's exact words: "Kroc style, boom like that."
