  3. DUAL ENROLLMENT • Allows high school students to earn college credit OR vocational credit towards a post-secondary certificate or degree which will also count as credit toward a high school diploma. • Exclusively for Qualifying Sophomores, Juniors & Seniors.

  5. What does my child need to do to qualify to take college courses while in high school? • Must meet THEA testing guidelines by Aug. 1, 2013. • You must submit your college application by May 30thon Applytexas.org • STC must receive official high school transcript by May 30th. 4. Student must sign STC documentation by August 10, 2013.

  6. Some colleges/universities do not accept the TAKS exemptions and may request higher scores on THEA to place you out of remedial classes THEA and Remedial Courses

  7. Exemptions for THEA TAKS – Exit Level Scores • Exempt for MATH • 2200 MATH • Exempt for Reading and Writing • 2200 ELA • 3 on Essay ACT Scores • 23+ Composite – With at least a 19+ math and 19+ English SAT Scores • 1070+ math & critical reading scores – With at least a 500 math and 500 critical reading Check with your student’s counselor if they may be exempt from taking the THEA exam
