I.NoFear ofFaith • Which event do you think is more important: the birth of Jesus or Jesus' resurrection? Explain. • How does fear factor into why some people don't follow Jesus?
II.NoFear ofDoubts • Is it OK to have doubts about your faith? Why or why not? • Some say we should just "take everything on faith" surrounding the events of Jesus' death and resurrection-what's your counter argument to that attitude? How have you been searching for answers to your own doubts?
III.NoFear ofDeath • How afraid are you of death? Explain. • Are you more afraid of the experience of death, or what will happen to you after you die? Explain.
IV. Additional Discussion • In 1 Corinthians 15:3-8 Paul mentions the numerous eyewitnesses to Jesus' resurrection. With that many witnesses, why do so many still struggle to believe Jesus was who he said he was? • 1 Corinthians 15:13-14 are powerful verses. When have you feared that your faith might be useless? Do these verses strengthen your faith or make you concerned? Explain. • Would you rather have an experience like the women in Luke 24 where you were terrified by something God did or said, or one like Peter in Luke 24:12 where he goes searching for answers? Is one experience more powerful than the other? Explain. • Does Paul's message in 1 Corinthians 15:56-57 mean we'll never sin again? How would you explain these verses to someone who knows little about the Bible?
V. Application • Pair up with another person in the group and personalize 1 Corinthians 15:58. If Paul were speaking directly to you, in what areas would he tell you to "work enthusiastically for the Lord"? Take a couple of minutes to tell your partner some of the ways you could do this.
VII. Summary • No Fear of Faith • No Fear of Doubts • No Fear of Death QUESTIONS?
