Achilles Heel Meaning Someone’s weak point Story behind the Achilles heel To prevent him from dying young, his mother dipped him into the River Styx. The part where she was holding Achilles by, his heel, was not washed by the water of the magical river and one day, Achilles was shot in the heel by a poisonous arrow and killed.
