Roy Bishop Canfield, MD 1869-1932 • Grew up in Ann Arbor • Trained at University of Michigan (1887), Department Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat, University of Michigan, Massachusetts Eye and Ear, Berlin, Germany, Manhatten Eye and Ear, New York City Clinic for Laryngeal Tuberculosis, named Professor of the Department of Otolaryngology • Died in an auto accident returning from a house call in Detroit Canfield with daughter. A foundling on whom he did a mastoidectomy. He and his wife adopted her and renamed her Barbara.
