Girls – write a story from a child’s perspective…make it magical and childlike but still tell the facts. Boys – write the story from Bentley’s perspective…give details and feelings he would have had living through this endeavor. Think about his character traits and what was going on In the country at the same time. The Snowflake Man… 1865 - Birth (the year the civil war ended) 1880 – At 15 he started illustrating snowflakes 1882 – At 17 his parents bought him the microscope camera 1885 – At 20 he photographed his first snowflake 1886-1930 – He photographed over 5000 different snowflakes, he sold pictures, he displayed pictures…based on his work, he proved that snowflakes can be photographed and that they are unique…He discovered most snowflakes had 6 main branches, some had 3. 1931 – Snow Crystals (his book is published) 1931 – he caught pneumonia and died
