  2. Anaximander Who is Anaximander? He was an Ancient Greek philosopher. He was born 610 B.C. and died 546 B.C. in Miletus in Asia Minor, a fellow citizen of Thales. He was a great philosopher. He was the first to write a treatise is prose, which has been called traditionally On Nature. His thoughts include significant theories on the fields of cosmology, cosmogony and biology. Anaximander was the first to draw the inhabited world on a map and/or tablet. He was also famous for explaining winds, rains, earthquakes and other natural phenomena in a rational non-mythological way.

  3. Anaximander’s First Accomplishment He was the first of many to draw the inhabited world on a map and/or tablet.

  4. Anaximander’s Second Accomplishment He was the first who dared to write a treatise in prose, which has been called traditionally On Nature.

More Interesting Stuff About Amaximander Anaximander, also known as Aniximander, was the second of the physical philosophers of Ionia, a citizen of Miletus, a pupil of Thales, and teacher of Anaximenes of Miletus. Little is known of his life and work. Aelian makes him the leader of the Milesian colony to Amphipolis, and hence some have inferred that he was a prominent citizen.
