Personal Readiness • Have you actually: • Prepared a disaster supply kit with emergency supplies like water, food and first aid supplies that is kept in a designated place in your home? • Prepared a small kit with emergency supplies that you that you keep in your car or at work? • Made a plan for how your family would communicate in the event of an emergency if you are separated?

Recommendations The Memphis and Shelby County Emergency Agency suggests taking these 7 steps to get ready for the worst: Conduct an ability self assessment, Establish a support team, Learn to give information on how best to assist you, Create an emergency plan, Practice your plan, Collect disability-specific supplies for emergency supplies kits and Assemble your kit and put it in an accessible place in your home.
