Trends in schools • Modern ideas about learning (learn how to learn rather than knowledge reproduction, critical reflection, problem solving, etc) • New teaching methods (ICT, group assignments, project work, reporting rather than reproduction • Schools as learning organisations (not only pupils learn, but also staff and organisation) • Greater innovation capacity of schools

Training methods • What did you learn last week? • How did you learn? • Management training is not tell and sell • Adults learn by doing: having real problems in every day life, reflecting on possible causes and attractive solution and reflecting on this. • Adults use a learning cycle like in problem solving: experience a problem, searching for causes, choosing a possible solution and trying whether it works (cycle starts again)
