6. English Language Arts Continuation of sentences & sentence structure
Nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, & prepositions
Writing prompts across the curriculum
7. Math We don’t use one textbook.
Lot’s of fun things to learn:
Multiplication & Division
Beginning Algebra: x + 9 = 12
Fractions: add, subtract, multiply, simplify, compare, equivalent
Geometry:
Lines, angles, solids, polygons
8. Social Studies Supposed to cover the Vikings exploration through the War of 1812.
Starting with Jamestown so that we can get through the Revolution & formation of our government
Will highlight explorers like Cabot, Hudson, Columbus, etc.
9. Science Animal Classification
Plants
Biomes
Weather
Lots of review:
Simple Machines
Adaptations
10. Engineering Students will get to play and create a lot in Science
We need old boxes, paper towel tubes, wrapping paper tubes, duct tape, string.
13. Index Card Challenge Students had to build a platform out of 100 index cards and see how high they could build it.
21. Spelling 25 words each week
Only use the Basic & Challenge words
Students must pass in 30 points from the option sheet each Friday
22. Homework Should average 50 minutes per night
Will get Math, Social Studies, Science, or ELA
Must read for 30 minutes
Book, magazine, newspaper, internet article
Signed logs due Friday
Spelling due on Friday
