TO DOs at the semester end • SIGNATURE • In the INDEX book by Professor Csillag • (collect the booklets and the entire group should • submit them TOGETHER during the last week) • PREREQUISITES • Absences/presences (limited number of absences) • At least one of the midterms is over 1 • – IF NO – there is a retake during the last week • (you can CHOOSE either the 1st or • the 3rd midterm, but not Histology • or Microscopy in the 3rd semester)

Semifinal examinations • EXEMPTION • In case the sum of midterms is higher than 11, so the average is 3,666, or higher - the students will be exempted from the practical exam with a mark 5. • EXAM PARTS • Dissection room (osteology, joints and muscles, • together with vessels and large nerves • Histology (slide recognition, theory,+ cell biology question) • Locomotor 1 (joint and actions and muscles) • Locomotor 2 (canals, cavities, fossae) • - Embryology (general features, limbs, head, membranes)

  5. PLEASE NOTE, THAT EVEN ONE UNSATISFACTORY ANSWER WILL RESULT IN FAILURE OF THE ENTIRE SEMIFINAL EXAMINATION. ‘GOOD’ ANSWERS OF THE FAILED EXAM WILL ALSO HAVE TO BE REPEATED, EXCEPT FOR THE DISSECTION PART.

NEPTUN • REGISTRATION FOR AN EXAM • Set dates with a limited number of SEATs, please note, that there is no further possibility to open more dates • The first day is OPEN for students with exemptions only, because the dissection room is not in function. • - Watch for the limitations (remarks, e.g. ‘only retake exam’) while registering for an exam.

  7. EXAM FACTS • Exams start at 13.00 (leave your coat and bag in a locker and gather in front of the DISSECTION ROOM. DO NOT COME LATE! • Make sure you have your tools (pair of forceps), pen or pencils, the index and the Histology notebook on you. In the absence of the index the exam cannot be started. • - EXAMINERS are assigned by the course director (in case of a repeated exam, i.e. following failure, preferably a new examiner will be selected)

  8. EXAM FACTS (cont’d) - Exam dates may be changed via NEPTUN latest 48 hours prior to the exam day - 6 weeks of ‘regular’ exams, the last week is SOLELY for retakes - Retakes - 3 working days ‘interval’, before it can be repeated. You have to register again via NEPTUN

EXAM FACTS (cont’d) The 1st retake is for free, the following ones will need to be paid for at the English Secretariat, and the payment slip will have to be PRESENTED at the beginning of the exam retake. In the absence of the payment slip, or another proof of payment, the retake exam cannot be started. - In case the dissection part of the previous exam has been successful (2 or higher), it will not have to be repeated during the retake.

EXAM FACTS (cont’d) • We do not encourage student to opt for • CV exams (retake of the previous semifinal in the end of the following semester, prior to the 2nd semifinal) due to the difficulties of preparing for two semifinal exams. • - CV exam may only be an option for those students, whose midterm average has been 2 (or higher).

  11. 2ND SEMESTER 1st day – January 31. 2011 TOPICS – internal organs and body cavities BREAKS – March 11, 15 April 13 Easter break April 18-25 COMPETITION – 2 rounds (everything except for the urogenital tract) EXAM PERIOD – May 16 – June 30
