University of Winnipeg Transfer Profile • 10,000 currently registered students • 3535 undergraduate admissions Fall 2011 • 1009 transfer applicants • Letter of permission process allows students to attend other institutions as visiting students, and transfer credit back
Transfer Policy • Students can transfer a maximum of 60 credit hours toward a U of W degree (2/3 of a 3-year degree, ½ of a 4-year degree) • Either another AUCC university, or a non-AUCC college, high school, PLAR credits
HS Accelerated/Dual Credit • University courses offered in high schools by university or high school faculty • Anthropology, Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, Conflict Resolution, English, Geography, Intro to University, Sociology, Psychology, Women’s and Gender Studies
AP and IB credit • Transfer credit or advanced standing for International Baccalaureate or Advanced Placement results in high school • Biology, Chemistry, Economics, English, French, Geography, German, History, Mathematics, Philosophy, Physics, Politics, Psychology, Theory of Knowledge
Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition • Challenge for credit • Demonstration of learning outcomes from a given course achieved through non-traditional means • Maximum 36 credit hours, just over one year worth of credit, can be attained
Military Transfer • Credit for Officer Professional Military Education (OPME) courses through Royal Military College Continuing Studies • Flight school recognition toward Aviation Management BBA stream
