  8. What are the 4 pillars of dharma? SB-25 tapaḥ śaucaḿ dayā satyam itipādāḥ kṛte kṛtāḥ adharmāḿśais trayo bhagnāḥ smaya-sańga-madais tava…. (S. B. 1.17.24) The four legs of dharma were established by the four principles of austerity, cleanliness, mercy and truthfulness. But it appears that three of your legs are broken due to rampant irreligion in the form of pride, lust, and intoxication.

  9. Parikshit Maharaj was about to kill kali. But kali fell on his feet begging for mercy. “Please give me shelter” - kali pleaded. What did Parikshit Maharaj give?

  10. What did ParikshitMaharaj give? SB-24 abhyarthitas tadā tasmai sthānāni kalaye dadau dyūtaḿ pānaḿ striyaḥ sūnā yatrādharmaś catur-vidhaḥ... (SB: 1.17.38) [Maharaja Parikshit, thus being petitioned by the personality of Kali, gave permission to reside in places where gambling, drinking, prostitution and animal slaughter were performed.]

  12. Kali said, “It is impossible to find those Places in your kingdom! Please give something practical…” Parikshit thought, and gave one more place for Kali to stay…. What is it?

  15. Parikshit Maharaja continued to travel through the forest.. He was not aware that his crown was made of GOLD! He gets thirsty.. Enters an ashram Commits a great sin!

  32. Animal Slaughter Totals (USA) - 2012: 9.0 billion animals each year! = 24.65 million every day! = 1 million animals every hour!

  33. But, vegetarians also kill plants that have lives. Aren’t they incurring any sins..?

  34. Yes! They also incur sin of killing !

  35. But, how big is their sin? That depends on the conscious level (state) of the killed Dormant – Plants & vegetation (Water/Land) Dreaming – Living in water (fish, etc) Sleeping – Insects, worms.. Awaken – Birds and animals.. Alert – Human beings Spiritual – Brahmins/Devotees

Jalajā nava lakşāni Sthāvarā lakşa vimśati Krmayo rudra sankhyakah Pakşiņām daśa lakşaņam Trimsal lakşāni paśavah Catur lakşāni mānuşah (Padma Purana) This sloka also describes the living species in different levels of consciousness (nerve development) There are 900,000 kinds of aquatics, 2,000,000 kinds of trees and plants, 1,100,000 kinds of insects and reptiles, 1,000,000 kinds of birds, 3,000,000 kinds of four-legged beasts, and 400,000 kinds of human species.

  39. Then what can we eat? We came to this mysterious world We do not belong here. Here, every one is a food to another To get out of this misery, one should be spiritually awaken. Offer food first to the Lord first and eat.

  40. BG-24 yajña-śiṣṭāśinaḥ santo mucyante sarva-kilbiṣaiḥ bhuñjate te tv aghaḿ pāpā ye pacanty ātma-kāraṇāt.. B.G 3.13 The devotees of the Lord are released from all kinds of sins because they eat food which is offered first to the Lord. Others, who prepare food for personal sense enjoyment, verily eat only sin.

  41. But, what to offer and how to offer? patraḿ puṣpaḿ phalaḿ toyaḿ yo me bhaktyā prayacchati tad ahaḿ bhakty-upahṛtam aśnāmi prayatātmanaḥ… (B.G 9.26) If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I will accept it.
