1. Placido’s Post August 22, 2013 What’s New in Third Grade? Wow! What a great first week of school we have had together! Our class is spending time getting to know each other, their teacher, and our new school. Along with everything that comes with “back to school” we have jumped right into learning! Because of this, it is important to check and sign your child’s agenda each night! We are looking forward to a wonderful year in 3rd grade! What We’re Learning Upcoming Dates 8/27 – MAP Testing (Reading) 9/2 – Labor Day, No School! 9/5 – MAP Testing (Math) 9/23-9/27 – Book Fair 9/25 – Early Release Day 10/14 -10/18 – Fall Break 10/23 – Picture Day Reading – Asking and answering questions about a text. Social Studies – Being responsible citizens and following the rules! Writing – Writing notebook entries about personal experiences. Math – Solving multiplication problems using multiple strategies! Reminders! • Please send all paperwork from Open House with your student, including 2 Blue Emergency Cards! • Please save your boxtops for our classroom! We hope to add new books to our library with our boxtop money!
