We depend on it. • Count on natural resources for survival • Water • Trees • Oil • Minerals • People depend on the Mississippi River for water and transportation. • Logging businesses cut trees for paper, homes etc.
HUMAN-ENVIRONMENT INTERACTION • We modify the environment. • Canals • Buildings – AC/heat • Cutting trees • Dams • Roads • Bridges • People modify our environment by heating and cooling buildings for comfort. • We adapt to the environment. • Clothing • Type of buildings • We adapt to the environment by wearing clothing suitable for summer (shorts) and winter (coats), rain and shine.
