What is collaboration? Collaboration is based on shared goals, a shared vision, and a climate of trust and respect. During collaboration each partner brings new ideas and fulfills a defined role.
Tips for Collaboration • First, remember TEAM= Together Everyone Achieves More. Team members are counting on each other! • Each team member should be a leader and a player in order to instill open, honest, and comfortable work. • Team members must believe in the goal they are trying to reach. The work done should help reach this goal. • Have a specific time that the collaboration team will meet each week, month, etc. and hold each other accountable.
Benefits • Improves student achievement, behavior, and attitude. • Helps avoid end-of-the-year burn-out and increase enthusiasm. • Avoid sink-or-swim and trial and error mode.
Teacher/LMS Collaboration Ideas • The LMS can provide the resources teachers need to make their ideas happen. • The LMS can analyze learning and information needs. • Teachers can use the LMS to help find credible websites for their students to use. • The LMS can teach information skills lessons in the classroom.
Teacher/TIS Collaboration Ideas • The TIS can find hardware and software that may be helpful in teaching the curriculum. • The TIS can contribute to teaching the technology curriculum. • The TIS can also help integrate technology into the core curriculum, which is vital to todays students.
