TRAMATraining Responsible Adults to be Medical Assistants Comprehensive Training includes : • Medical Terminology • Basic Anatomy • Pharmaceuticals • Clinical Techniques • CPR and First Aid • Medical Office Skills • Alzheimer’s/Dementia Specific Training • Basic Billing and Coding Procedures •E-charting Training • Business Writing • Financial Literacy • Computer Skills — Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint) Internet, Keyboarding • Employability Skills: Applications, Resumes, Cover Letters, Job Search and Interviewing • Individual Employment Counseling with a Case Manager • Positive Attitude and a Healthy Approach to Each Student’s Career Path Minimum Number of Hours: • Training: 720 (30 hours per week for 24 weeks) Includes: • Internship: minimum 120 hrs
TRABACTraining Responsible Adults to be Bookkeeping and Accounting Clerks Comprehensive Training includes : • Introduction to Bookkeeping/Accounting (including introduction to Payroll Procedures, and Electronic Spreadsheet Application) • Financial Literacy • Business Math / Calculators • Computerized Accounting: QuickBooks • Business Writing/Communication • Computer Skills — Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint), Internet • Office Skills and Keyboarding • Internet, Communication, and Life-coping Skills • Green Business Practices • Employability Skills: Applications, Resumes, Cover Letters, Job Search and Interviewing • Individual Employment Counseling and Life Coping Skills with a Case Manager • Positive Attitude and a Healthy Approach to Each Student’s Career Path Minimum Number of Hours: • Training: 720 (30 hours per week for 24 weeks) Includes: • Internship: minimum 80 hrs
CERTIFICATE IN SOCIAL AND HUMAN SERVICES ASSISTANCE • The Social and Human Services Assistant Certification Program is designed specifically for students who are interested in preparing for entry level positions in the health and human services fields. • Students enrolled in the program can earn up to 17 college credits, along with the Social and Human Services Assistance Certificate, following their successful completion of the program. Both the certificate and the college credits will be issued by Rhode Island College and Rhode Island College Outreach Programs.

CHW Community Health Worker Certification Comprehensive Training Includes : • 6 weeks of classroom learning • 6 weeks of experiential learning through an internship. Topics covered include: • Overview of the Role and Responsibilities of a Community Health Worker • Skills for Working with Clients and Families • Skills Surrounding Cultural Competency • Language Access and Healthcare • Health Literacy and Effective Communication • Tools For Introducing Health Education for Behavior Change • Supporting Access to Services • Leadership Skills for Advocacy and Action • Employability Skills: Applications, Resumes, Cover Letters, Job Search and Interviewing • Individual Employment Counseling with a Case Manager • Positive Attitude and a Healthy Approach to Each Student’s Career Path • English as a Second Language (ESL) if necessary • Potential careers include intake, caseworker assistant, interpreter, patient advocate, patient navigator, health educators, home visitor, health promotion specialist • careers can be in hospitals, community health centers, free clinics, health plans, state health departments, educational institutions, and social service agencies. Number of Hours: • Training:150 Classroom Hours • Internship: minimum96 hrs. (Meets Monday-Thursday, 20 hrs per week)
English as a Second Language(ESL) andComputer Assisted English Language Learning (CAELL) The Computer Assisted English Language Learning program is designed to give adults whose first language is not English, the tools and foundation to communicate effectively in English. Various forms of technology are incorporated into the curriculum to enhance the classroom experience as well as giving students the opportunity to use different forms of media that they will use at work or in daily life. We provide our students with the necessary literacy and computer skills to function in their roles as learners,parents, workers, and consumers. The duration of the course is 12 weeks and is offered year round. • Day & Evening Classes Available
