  23. IEEE Albuquerque List of Activities A new computer Engineering Chapter was establishedIn May 08 the IEEE Albuquerque section awards were presented. Awards were given to outstanding engineer, outstanding undergraduate and graduate students, and outstanding engineering educator. The Image Analysis Symposium took place in Santa Fe, between March 24-26.NM Tech held a student paper contest and the Albuquerque section sent the winner,  Toby Sachs-Quintana, to the regional paper contest in Tucson, AZ.   24. On Saturday June 7, 50 IEEE members toured the Very Large Array (VLA) facility 50 miles west of Socorro, NM. The VLA is one of the world’s premier astronomical radio observatories. • The Albuquerque chapter of GOLD (Graduates of the last decades) was recognized as the most active in the region. Activities in the past year included a visit to the Center for High Performance Computing, participation in the solar fiesta, and other networking activities.
