Harold B. Lee In his Sermon on the Mount, the Master has given us somewhat of a revelation of His own character, which was perfect, or what might be said to be “an autobiography, every syllable of which He had written down in deeds,” and in so doing, has given us a blueprint for our own lives. (Stand Ye in Holy Places, pp. 341-342)
Joseph F. Smith “Read the Sermon on the Mount, and then ask yourselves whether it is beyond and above everything ever taught by man. It confirms me in the belief that Jesus was not merely a man, but that He was God manifest in the flesh. It is the doctrine of eternal life, by which if a man shall live he shall never die; by which if he shall walk he shall walk in pleasant paths; and by which if he shall abide, he shall know the truth, and the truth will make him free.” (Collected Discourses 1886-1898, ed. by Brian Stuy, vol. 5, Joseph F. Smith, Oct. 18, 1896

Signs of Discipleship Matt 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God. Moroni 7:3,4 Who is Mormon speaking to?
Question What is the difference between being ‘a Peacemaker’ and an Enabler?
The World’s version? No Mercy No peace
President McKay “Men may yearn for peace, cry for peace, and work for peace, but there will be no peace until they follow the path pointed out by the living Christ” (CR, October 1964, 5).
Two other Attributes: 3 Nephi 12 “…I give unto you to be the salt of the earth” “…I give unto you to be the light of this people.” The danger? …if the salt shall lose its savor…. …do men light a candle and put it under a bushel?
The Call to Make a Difference “Just as Jesus beckons his people to be the salt of the earth - to be willing and able to flavor, heal, and preserve the world - so he insists that they stand as a light to the world. He demands that they make a difference. And it is only as the light of truth burns within them, only as the light of the gospel shines forth from them, that darkness can be penetrated” (Robert L. Millet, An Eye Single to the Glory of God, p. 48;
Forgiveness? The Christopher Williams family was struck late Friday, in Salt Lake, when a Jeep Cherokee traveling south on 2000 East slammed into the family's northbound Volkswagen Jetta beneath the Interstate 80 overpass. The SUV flipped, and the driver, who suffered minor scrapes and bruises, fled on foot. The sedan suffered heavy passenger-side damage, killing the pregnant mother, Michelle Williams, 41, and two of her children: Ben, 11, and Anna, 9. The surviving father and 6- year-old boy, Sam, were transported in extremely critical condition to Salt Lake City hospitals. The couple's other son, Michael, 14, was not in the car. Family spokesman James Wood said the father – an LDS bishop in the Crystal Heights 2nd Ward - has improved considerably since the crash. His son, however, remains in the intensive care unit at Primary Children's Medical Center with bleeding and swelling of the brain, a broken collar bone and cracked ribs. From his hospital bed, Christopher Williams asked for a prayer - not for himself, but for the teenage driver who police say smashed into his family sedan, killing his wife and two of his children. At Williams' request, the 17-year-old's name was added to the prayer roll of an LDS temple, hoping to give some comfort to a teen now jailed on suspicion of automobile homicide. "I don't know of anyone who believes in the redemption more than Chris Williams," said lifelong friend…
