  2. Starter • Vocabulary Race...how many food words can you write down in 3 minutes? • Try and add more words. This time use your books.

  3. Objectives • O understand French menu layout • To apply this knowledge to giving and taking orders in French. • To understand the use of “vous”.

  4. Reading • Read the menu on page 68 • Are there any unfamiliar words? • Write them on the board

  5. Listening • Listen to the recording. • You will hear four people ordering food. • Write down their orders. • You can use the numbers down the side of the menu for speed. Example: A: 2, 6 B: .... Extension: Once you know the numbers, write down any extra information you hear (eg – type of fruit juice)

  6. Correction • What were the orders? • A: 2, 6, 12, (salade) • B: 1 (coca), 16 (frites, haricots), 20 • C: 5, 10, 17, 23 (fraise) • D: 3 (tomate), 7, 18 (pommes de terre, salade), 19, 4 • Mark out of 15 for each number you got right. • Did you write down any extra information?

  7. Questions... • Read through the questions... • Note: Voulez-vous and avezvous • What does comme mean? • What about je voudraisand je prends?

  8. Jeu de rôle • In pairs, write a dialogue based on the questions on page 69. • Practice your dialogue.

  9. 3, 2, 1... • Tell me... • 1 Important phrase from today. • 2 Questions you want to ask. • 3 Things you learned.
