Ancient Greece Food The ancient Greeks ate many different types of food. They had three main meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner where they ate all the different types of food. They also drank a lot of wine. It was their main drink. Back to Room 1
Ancient Greeks ate a lot of different types of food. The Greeks ate many types of food. They ate vegetables, fruit, meat, and bread. Their diet was mostly grain, fruit, and vegetables. They did not eat much meat, but still ate some. There were different types of food for kings and queens. Back to Room 1
The ancient Greeks ate many different types of food. Grapes and olives were the main crops in Greece. Olives were grown in November through February because of the cool weather. Grapes were normally picked in September also because of the cool weather. Even though Greece did not have good soil 20% of land had soil that crops could survive in. Back to Room 1
The ancient Greeks ate ate many different types of food. The men were the one who went to the market and get the food. The people who lived on the coast at a lot more seafood like fish, octopus, crab, and squid. They used a pot over fire to cook the food so they don’t get sick. Back to Room 1

They also sometime made pancakes, which were made from flour, olive oil, honey and curdled milk. They also sometime had vegetables with breakfast. Back to Room 2
The ancient Greeks had three main meals. (This is lunch) The Greeks had a quick lunch. They normally had fruit and vegetables. Sometimes they ate meat like fish. The wives and daughter were the one who cooked all the meals. Typical ancient Greek food they had were bread, olives, olive oil, figs, and organic cheeses. They sometimes had this for lunch because they tended to always have these. Back to Room 2
The ancient Greeks had three main meals (This is dinner) Dinner was the biggest meal of the day. They would often have dinner parties. for the royalties. Only men were able to go to the parties. They served several types of food at the parties. They also drank a lot of wine at these parties. Back to Room 2
Wine was the main drink in ancient Greece. The Greeks had drank a lot of wine. Cooking was normally done by the daughters, and wives. And they also made the wine. The wine was mostly made from squeezes grapes. (This is a picture of the squeezing the grapes.) Back to Room 3
