Observations based on lessons learned and group activities • The most propagated educational ideas are usually those that involve less work and are simple to understand and institute. • Sometimes money talks but some folks are motivated by other things like time, recognition [fame?], the greater good. Observations based on lessons learned and group activities • It is hard to relinquish control of your idea • Idea dynamics are interesting and volatile---always use student learning as your beacon and your bacon. • Educational ideas that require change need “pulsing” and “pressing.“ • Sometimes with administrators and/or grassroots faculty, and more frequently, students (e.g. Student Initiated Courses). • If at first you don’t succeed…keep pressing. • STEP CENTRAL website: http://stepcentral.net/ …A clearinghouse of good information about dissemination and communities of practice.
