Reoccurring Areas of Safety Exposure/Vulnerability • Policy enforcement/accountability issues • Inconsistent enforcement of accident preventability policy/guidelines • CBA integration with safety performance • Inconsistent safety performance standards
Reoccurring Areas of Safety Exposure/Vulnerability (cont) • 62% of operators had 1 or more preventable collisions in the previous 3 year period • 27 out of 42 operators were considered veteran operators (4 or more years with the organization) • 10 operators were terminated • 8 received some sort of remedial training • 14 received no remedial training • 10 cases no information for preventability or remediation was provided • 5 of the 42 accidents were determined non-preventable by the member

IRM Priorities • Some members received more or less attention due to: • Experience rating adjustments • Extra assessment on the assessment for adverse loss experience … those that received extra assessment were given more attention / those with large credits were given less • Fixed route cases meeting certain criteria (pedestrian losses) • Goal of at least one loss review for every member
