The objective of PIKS is to provide a wide range of information and services to people who are mobile within a defined organizational area. Summary • Information delivery to pervasive devices is a hot issue • No suitable solution exists • To enable adoption by masses, solution must be very easy to maintain: • Infrequent battery replacement or recharging (if ever) • Zero configuration • Ultra low cost • Small screen size leads to modest bandwidth requirements (19200 bps per user is more than enough) Boaz Carmeli, IBM HRL
