  2. High School Preparation • No real preparation is necessary other than meeting basic entry requirements • It does look good to have taken part in Ready, Set, Teach!

Admission Requirements • All new undergraduate admission applicants are required to submit a non-refundable application fee of $45. • Successfully complete the recommended or advanced high school program or complete the portion of the program that was available to them; or • Successfully complete a curriculum that is equivalent in content and rigor to the recommended or advanced high school program at a high school that is exempt from offering such programs; or • Satisfy the College Readiness Benchmarks on the SAT or ACT assessment • SAT – 1500 out of 2400 (this score requirement includes writing) • ACT – 18 English, 21 Reading, 22 Mathematics and 24 Science • Taken from http://www.sfasu.edu/admissions/freshmen/

  4. Major/Minor • In order to become an English teacher at SFA, students must major in English with a concentration in Secondary Education • Students will prepare for certification tests (TExES content area test and PPR) in classes
